Terms & Conditions – Altro 100 years quiz game
The competition runs each calendar month between 7 January to 20 December 2019 and is open to all website visitors aged 18 years or over.
You do not have to be an Altro customer to enter; however the competition is not open to Altro employees, their immediate family members, or any third party directly associated with administration of the competition. You can enter the competition once each calendar month but no more than eight times during the course of the competition.
Prize available to be won: Amazon Echo dot – or country equivalent.
The competition is free to enter and no purchase is necessary. You can enter the competition by completing the online quiz here.
Altro cannot accept entries by any other method. The final round of the competition closes at midnight GMT on 20 December 2019.
There will be a winner at the end of each calendar month and on 20 December 2019. Participants with the highest number of points on the leader board at midnight GMT on the last day of each calendar month or 20 December 2019 will win the prize for that preceding month.
On the first day of each calendar month, the leader board will be erased and it will start from scratch for that following month.
Participants will achieve points by answering questions correctly in the online quiz. The online quiz is multiple choice and timed and each participant will be asked 7 questions about Altro during the last 100 years as well as various historical events over the past 100 years.
Participants will receive points at the end of completing the quiz, calculated on the number of right answers, how quickly they answer the questions and bonus points for answering correctly more than one question in a row. The quiz has seven (7) rounds and for each round participants will need to answer a question within 10 seconds in the form of a countdown, with a maximum of 10 points for each round on offer. When a participant selects an answer, the countdown is stopped and the number of points awarded to a participant for a correct answer is determined by the number of seconds left in the countdown. There are no points awarded for an incorrect answer. Points for correct answers are allocated as follows:
- Including and over 9 seconds left in the countdown: 10 points
- Including and over 8 seconds but under 9 seconds left in the countdown: 9 points
- Including and over 7 seconds but under 8 seconds left in the countdown: 8 points
- Including and over 6 seconds but under 7 seconds left in the countdown: 7 points
- Including and over 5 seconds but under 6 seconds left in the countdown: 6 points
- Including and over 4 seconds but under 5 seconds left in the countdown: 5 points
- Including and over 3 seconds but under 4 seconds left in the countdown: 4 points
- Including and over 2 seconds but under 3 seconds left in the countdown: 3 points
- Including and over 1 second but under 2 seconds left in the countdown: 2 points/li>
- Over 0 seconds but under 1 second left in the countdown: 1 point
There are also bonus points on offer for each round from rounds 2 to 7. 5 bonus points are awarded for each time an answer is correct in two consecutive rounds from rounds 2 to 7 for a maximum of 30 bonus points for the game.
Altro will contact each winner by email at the email address provided on the respective entry form and the winner must confirm acceptance by reply email. Altro will send the prize by recorded delivery (or the local recorded delivery service to the winner) to the address [requested in the winner’s confirmation email/set out in the address provided on the respective entry form]. Winners will not be able to exchange the prize for any other prize or cash.
By entering this competition, you hereby warrant that the information you submit to Altro will not infringe the intellectual property, privacy or any other rights of any third party, and will not contain anything which is libellous, defamatory, obscene, indecent, harassing or threatening. If relevant, Altro reserves the right, but not the obligation, to screen, filter and/or monitor information provided by you and to edit, or remove the same.
Altro accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
You are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions upon entry. Altro reserves the right to refuse entry, disqualify, or refuse to award the prize to you, if Altro has reasonable grounds to believe you have breached any of these terms and conditions. In all matters, the decision of Altro shall be final and no correspondence or discussion shall be entered into.
Personal data supplied during the course of this competition will only be processed as set out in the Altro’s privacy policy.
The competition will be governed by English law and entrants to the competition submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
