Altro flooring, wall cladding and doorsets in the Accident and Emergency corridors

Watford General Hospital is at the heart of the West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust’s acute emergency services - providing inpatient emergency care for local patients who need the specialist emergency facilities (such as intensive care) of a major district general hospital. It also provides elective care for higher risk patients together with a full range of outpatient and diagnostic services. There are approximately 600 beds and nine operating theatres on site. The Trust also manages St Albans and Hemel Hempstead hospitals.

The hospital needed refitting of walls, flooring and doorsets in their Accident and Emergency corridors. Being a busy hospital, they needed a product that could be quickly installed and handle a high level of traffic.

Watford General Hospital chose Altro XpressLay flooring, Altro Whiterock wall cladding and doorsets. Altro XpressLay is the world's first adhesive-free, truly sustainable safety floor that can be quickly installed, ideal for busy environments. Altro Whiterock provides a durable, grout-free, water-tight wall surface that meets strict hygiene standards. The surface also benefits from being stain resistant and wipe clean. It is also extremely impact resistant, ideal for tough areas such as hospital corridors. Altro Whiterock Hygienic Doorsets provide a complete uPVC-faced doorset to ensure the integrity of your hygienic, low maintenance installation and protect doors from porters and beds moving around the corridors. The hospital chose Altro flooring, wall cladding and doorsets for the ease and speed of installation and for the maintenance of hygiene.
