Designing for residents

Designing for dementia is an area we are proud to have worked in for many years and our guidance supports many of the areas highlighted in the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design at the National Disability Authority’s Research and Design Guidelines documents; 'Research for Dementia and Home Design in Ireland looking at New-Build and Retro-Fit Homes from a Universal Design Approach Key Findings, and Recommendations Report' and ‘Universal Design Guidelines.

We believe all care homes, and increasingly community buildings, need to be designed to help those affected by dementia to live well. Following a set of straight-forward principles creates well-designed, calming, attractive and appropriate, dementia-friendly homes.
